Therapy as a Path Back to Yourself—and Into Deeper Connection

Therapy is not about fixing people, but about accompanying you as you become more fully yourself. In my individual therapy work in NYC, I combine psychodynamic/psychoanalysis therapy with emotion-focused and experiential approaches to help you feel safe exploring your emotional world, making sense of your inner patterns, and reconnecting with parts of yourself that may have long gone unseen.

Together, we’ll work through pain while uncovering the vitality, clarity, and connection that come from truly knowing yourself—and bringing this deeper self into your relationships with others.

I draw from multiple approaches to individual therapy.

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is a gentle but powerful approach that helps you process emotions in real time, within the safety of a healing relationship. Rather than just talking about your struggles, we slow down and tune into your lived emotional experience—right here, right now. This experiential focus often leads to deep shifts, quickly, as stuck patterns begin to loosen and new, more vital ways of being emerge.

Psychoanalysis/Psychodynamics

Psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy helps you understand yourself on a deeper level by exploring unconscious emotional and relational patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate. Many of these patterns were formed early in life and continue to influence you in ways you might not fully realize. By bringing them into awareness, we can begin to untangle the past and open up space for new ways of being—with more freedom, clarity, and self-understanding.

Emotion-Focused Therapy

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) helps you get in touch with core emotions that may be buried, blocked, or overwhelming. By accessing these emotions in a safe, attuned space, we can process them fully—so they no longer drive you from the background. This work brings clarity, relief, and often rapid emotional change from the inside out.

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own voice and role. In therapy, we get to know these parts with compassion, especially the ones that carry pain. As your inner system becomes more balanced, you can lead your life with more clarity, calm, and self-trust.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to distress. By becoming more aware of how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact, you can develop more adaptive ways of responding—leading to greater stability and emotional relief.

What to Expect in Our Individual Therapy

  • We don’t just talk about emotions—we slow down and experience them together.

Drawing from Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), I guide you to stay with your emotional experience in real time, so what once felt overwhelming can begin to shift. When feelings are met with safety and connection, they often bring unexpected relief, insight, and healing.

This kind of work can feel surprisingly relieving, even early on. Emotions that once felt too much may begin to soften, making space for self-understanding, connection, and self-compassion.

  • We don’t just manage symptoms—we explore where they come from. With a depth-oriented and psychoanalytic lens, I help you recognize the unconscious patterns that shape how you feel, relate, and respond. Often rooted in early relationships, these patterns can quietly influence your life today. Together, we make space to feel, reflect, and shift—so change happens not just on the surface, but from the root.

  • Our relationship is the foundation. I won’t sit back and nod—I’ll be emotionally present, attuned, and interactive. Together, we’ll co-create a space where trust can grow, and where your experience feels seen and supported.

You won’t be doing this work alone. We’ll do it side by side.

  • Sessions are 45 minutes long, typically once or twice a week. We’ll begin by getting to know what’s bringing you in—your struggles, your hopes—and what feels most important to you right now.

I see clients both online and in person, depending on what feels most comfortable and accessible for you.

You don’t need to have the perfect words or a clear goal. Just come as you are. I’ll help us slow down, tune in, and notice what’s happening beneath the surface. Often, even early in the process, something begins to shift—whether it’s a sense of relief, insight, or simply feeling a little more connected to yourself.

I’d love to hear about your goals and how we can work together.
